Sadly, after only ten days, Kiah was placed on the euthanasia list.

She needed a miracle, and time was running out. On the day she was set to be euthanized, Kiah seemed to accept her fate, almost ready to let go of her dreams.

A Last-Minute Rescue

Just as all hope seemed lost, a miracle happened.

The compassionate team from Leashes of Love Rescue, Inc., based in Lake Forest, California, stepped in at the last minute, pulling Kiah from the shelter.

She was placed in a loving foster home where her journey to recovery began.

Kiah’s spirit soared. She was put on a nourishing diet and gradually regained her strength.

Although her leg couldn’t be saved, Kiah adapted to life as a tripod with remarkable courage. Her foster family showered her with affection, which she returned tenfold.

Ready for a Happy Ending

Kiah, now pain-free and full of life, became even more playful and affectionate.

Her rescuers describe her as a “cuddle bug” who can’t get enough head, body, and belly rubs.
