Some dogs are given no chance at all, left to fend for themselves due to irresponsible breeding.
Sadly, many of these furballs don’t survive the harsh world they’re thrown into.
This was the fate of a litter of puppies abandoned by a backyard breeder in California.

The tiny pups were just days old and barely clinging to life.
When a woman received a call about one of the pups—a little one no older than 3 days old—she didn’t hesitate.
The litter was barely holding on, and they needed help urgently.
Fighting for Survival from Day One
Clanay Reza, an independent rescuer with a heart of gold, rushed to the scene.
A neighbor had reached out to her, explaining the heartbreaking situation: the puppies were abandoned under their deceased mother, who had tragically bled to death.

Among them was Lucky, the most fragile of the bunch. He was so small, no bigger than a baby hamster.
Despite the grim odds, Clanay refused to give up on him. She fed him every twenty minutes, staying up around the clock in the first days, unsure if he’d survive the night.
“I never knew if tomorrow was promised for him,” Clanay shared. “Lucky’s first 8 weeks of life were spent with me barely sleeping. I stayed up just to make sure he was still breathing.”

Sadly, Lucky’s siblings didn’t survive, leaving him as the only pup with a chance.
A Rocky Start
After weeks of round-the-clock care, Lucky’s life was no longer in danger—but the journey wasn’t over.
As his eyes began to open, he was diagnosed with a yeast infection and a corneal ulcer. One of his eyes had to be removed to stop the pain.
“We found out he was blind in one eye,” Clanay explained. “As he got older, the ulcer caused him increasing pain, so at 4 months old, we had to remove his eye.”

At just 10 weeks old, Lucky was diagnosed with albinism, a result of inbreeding.
An Uphill Battle
Lucky’s first year of life was filled with heartache. He lost his mother and siblings and faced countless health struggles. But through it all, Lucky never lost his will to live.
“He had a rollercoaster first year,” Clanay said, “but each bump in the road made my love for him grow even stronger.”
A Happy Ending
Today, Lucky is 8 years old, and his story is one of resilience and love. After all the pain he endured, Lucky is now the quirkiest, fluffiest, most cuddly family member you could imagine.
He’s happier than ever, surrounded by a loving family who treats him like royalty.

Lucky is now a strong, confident dog who adores everyone, especially kids. In fact, he recently got a new baby sister, and he couldn’t be more thrilled!
He’s constantly by her side, always ready for playtime or a nap together.
Once an abandoned pup with no chance, Lucky is now the luckiest dog on Earth, living the life he always deserved.
