Rescuers Were Shocked To Found A Dog Tied To A Pole With His Head In A Trash Bag

Sadly, countless dogs around the world endure mistreatment. Thankfully, compassionate rescuers are ready to step in and offer help to those in need.

Such was the case when Sabine, a rescuer from Little Steps Matter, and her colleague found an emaciated dog tied to a pole, her head buried in a trash bag searching for scraps.

Heartbroken by the sight, they freed the friendly dog and were moved to tears, grateful they could provide the care she desperately needed.

Finally Safe

They named her Lisa. In rough shape, it was clear she had suffered neglect for a long time.

“It was heart-wrenching to see her like this, tied up so she couldn’t follow whoever left her behind,” Sabine shared with The Dodo.

The rescuers rushed her to a vet clinic, where she received a full examination.

The vets found Lisa was severely dehydrated, suffering from mange, and had early-stage cancer. She was immediately placed on IV fluids and kept under close watch.

A Journey of Healing

Just two days later, Lisa was showing signs of improvement, wagging her tail and greeting her caregivers. Within five days, she was ready to leave the clinic and join her new safehouse.

At first, Lisa was a bit overwhelmed by all the affection and care.

But soon, her spirit brightened, her eyes glowing with happiness. After only ten days at the shelter, Lisa gained weight, her fur began to grow back, and she started to open up fully. Four weeks later, she was declared cancer-free!

The once-terrified dog was now playful and confident, settling in with her gentle new pack.

“Lisa totally blossomed into a playful young dog with a loving nature,” Sabine said.

A New Life and a Forever Home

Lisa now radiates joy, enjoying life to the fullest. She loves spending time with people, playing with other dogs, and especially running around on the beach.

Now around a year old, Lisa is looking for a forever home. Though a little shy at first, she quickly warms up once she knows she’s safe.
