There’s no greater reward for a dog rescuer than witnessing a dog they saved transform and find happiness in a new life.
When the dedicated team at Howl Of A Dog first found Mina, she was in a truly heartbreaking condition.
This sweet girl had lived a life filled with fear and illness, and it showed in every trembling moment.
Mina was scared of everyone, shivering whenever someone approached her.
But her life was about to take an incredible turn—thanks to one gentle touch.
Mina’s Heartbreaking Past
When Mina was rescued from a city pond, the first thing her rescuers noticed was how terrified she was.
Every attempt to pet her sent her into a trembling state of fear.
Her reaction made it clear that she had endured serious trauma, which had left her deeply afraid of humans.
On top of her emotional wounds, Mina was suffering from severe health problems that required immediate attention.
“She was severely emaciated, suffering from mange and an intestinal infection, anemic, dehydrated, barely able to walk, and so emotionally traumatized that she was terrified of everything,” the Howl Of A Dog team explained in a YouTube video.
Her recovery would not be easy, but little did anyone know just how far Mina would come.
Belly Rubs That Changed Everything
The first few weeks after Mina’s rescue were tough. Her caregivers worked patiently to help her adapt, introducing her to new people and dogs at a slow pace.
But with love, regular medication, and veterinary care, Mina began to come out of her shell.
She started interacting with other dogs and, slowly but surely, allowed her caregivers to pet her.
The moment Mina wagged her tail for the first time was an emotional breakthrough for everyone.
Before long, she became a completely different dog. She started playing with her furry friends in the yard, her smile showing just how much she enjoyed her new life.
And her favorite thing of all? Belly rubs!
Despite her initial distrust of people, Mina soon came to adore the gentle belly pats from her caregivers.
This small gesture marked the beginning of her healing, and her trauma began to fade away as her trust in humans grew.
Finding the Perfect Home
Then came the best news of all—Mina found her forever home with Kathleen, Mattis, and their dog, Alma.
After her long and difficult journey, Mina had a loving family ready to welcome her with open arms.
Now, Mina enjoys playing with her bigger sister, Alma, taking daily trips to the beach, and having endless love and adventures with her new family.
“Mina has adjusted well to her new home and loves playing with Alma,” her rescuers shared on Facebook.
“Her transformation in the last few months is extraordinary, and we’re so happy that at the end of her journey, she found her perfect loving home.”
For the Howl Of A Dog team, seeing Mina’s new life after everything she endured was the greatest gift.
Mina’s story stands as a testament to what love and care can achieve, and she will always be a symbol of hope and resilience.
